Week in News in Fifty Words:
Bin Laden dead (changes nothing), whilst Cheryl Cole and Gary Barlow were chosen for US and UK X-Factors. The UK said no to AV, whilst Toronto went on "Slut Walks", and Lady Gaga got even weirder (if that’s possible)! Finally, research suggests coffee and sex “may” trigger strokes (good grief).
Week in Blogs:
MakeUp Savvy: Things I Just Don't Get: We all have aspects of the beauty industry that we just don't understand, but Fee does a fantastic job of summing up a large bulk of them.
The one that I'm really not getting is the excitement of Superdrug's new loyalty card. It's not that great a deal, especially when put alongside the one that Boots offers, and I can't believe how excited people were getting, on the Superdrug Facebook page about what the card is going to look like? Who cares?? What does it matter when you're going to bring it out of your purse for a whole ten seconds when you pay.
*Lippy and a LBD*: Evolve Detox and Protect Shampoo: Anyone who reads this blog regularly will know that I'm on a constant quest to find good products that suit my oily, fine hair, and Georgia reviewed two products that I am really keen to get my hands on.
Admittedly, the £9.99 (each) price tag is a little out of my price range, but it raises the debate of, if something works for you, how much are you willing to pay for it?
*Lippy and a LBD*: Bargain Beauty. £1.99 matte bronzer. Really!: In other post from the lovely Georgia, she raved about a Benefit Dupe bronzer that she picked up, from Savers, for the absolute bargain price of £1.99.
I love posts like this, because it proves that you certainly don't have to pay high price tags for good products, that are just as good as their more expensive counterparts.
Makeup, Calories and Rambles: EOTD: Purple Night: I am a huge fan of purple eyeshadows, and I love this look from Catherine. It's such a nice emo-style / night time look.
Temporary:Secretary: New Motto: So, what is Sarah's new motto?
"Happiness is a cup of tea, and a new magazine."
Whilst, I'm not a big tea-drinker, I'm sure most of you will agree that it really is true that there is nothing quite like sitting down with a magazine that you've just bought (or has come through the letter box).
Betwixt Beauty: The Curse of Interminable Blackheads: I hate blackheads. They are one of the banes of my life. So, it's nice to discover that I'm not the only one that just can not figure out a way of getting rid of the annoying little buggers. Nothing ever seems to work for me. So, if you have any tips on eradicating the sneaky things, for more than ten seconds, then Hannah would love to know (and I have to say, I'd love to know too!)
What have you been reading this week?
