Week of News in Fifty Words
Jai McDowell is surprise winner of Britain's Got Talent, following Ronan/Cowell "fix" allegations. A Hypnotist knocked himself out during a live show, as Wayne Rooney confesses to having hair transplant. And finally, expect a four day weekend AGAIN next year, as the Queen prepares to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.
Week in Blogs
#BBloggers. With being a way, I am totally out of whack with reading blogs, so instead, I'm just going to an overview of things that I have been reading, but not in as specific a fashion as I normally would.
As usual, last Sunday evening featured the weekly Twitter #bblogger "chat". For anyone who has yet to discover what #bbloggers is about, it is basically an hour long "chat", hosted by the gorgeous Fee from Make Up Savvy, that occurs between 8pm and 9pm England time, on a Sunday. In each session, beauty bloggers are given the opportunity to discuss a specific topic that has been suggested over the past week.
I didn't get involved as much as I might have liked, having just gotten back from Istanbul, earlier that afternoon, but for anyone who hasn't taken part, it really is worth it to:
a. Get your own opinions across
b. To see things from a totally different angle.
I think #bbloggers has been running for about three or four weeks now, and I never fail to learn something from them, so I strongly suggest that everyone takes part, if they can find the time :)
PR Disclosure. Over the past few days, I've come across several blog posts discussing whether bloggers should disclose the fact that they have received a product from a PR company or not. I'm not going to get into this one too deeply, because I do think that it is a personal choice that should be decided by the individual blogger. However, I will state, for the record, that I am a believer in disclosing any products that I have received from a PR company, because I think that my readers have a right to know.
There is a huge potential for a debate that could be had regarding samples, how many samples bloggers review in comparison to how many self-bought products they review, and the honesty behind it, but again, I'm not going to go into that right here.
But, being someone who enjoys shopping far too much, I very strongly doubt, that my blog will ever become overrun with samples, purely because that really would take the fun out of discovering new products for myself :)
As always, it's important to remember that each blogger runs their creations differently, and it's an individual choice as to how many samples they do or don't choose to receive. Whether we agree with their methodology is never for us to decide. We can only decide for ourselves :)
On that note, hopefully my Sunday Snippets will be back up and running, as usual, from next Sunday, when I've had chance to catch up on my blog reading :)
