During the winter, when the weather is uber cold and my lips tend to chap, I usually use a medicated one from Blistex (which I first discovered on a trip to Canada, and have been hooked ever since!), so when Spring rolls around, I am always relieved to be able to break out the fruity ones that are more for show than medicated or moisturising.
Eos and Me: I first heard of Eos Lip Balms about a year ago, when I saw You Tube Guru Michelle Phan promoting it. But, at the time, I hadn't expected them to be available in this country. A while later, I randomly decided to have a look to see if they were available on Ebay, and they were, but at that time, I'd just received some Lippy Puckers from the ever-so-lovely Anita Grant (if you have curly hair, and are looking for 100% natural products from someone who knows what she's talking about, you have to check her out!!), so I passed on buying any.
Role ahead to about three weeks ago, and I had found myself with a little extra cash, that I'd decided to treat myself with something I've never tried, so that I could review it on my blog, and I chose the Eos Summer Fruits Lip Balm.
What does Eos mean? Eos stands for "Evolution of Smooth".
Flavours: The Eos Lip Balm actually comes in five flavours:
- Summer Fruits (which is the "original" flavour, and the one I picked)
- Lemon Drop (with added SPF)
- Honeysuckle Honeydew
- Medicated Tangerine (which I may have to give a try next Winter!!)
- Sweet Mint
Why Eos Lip Balms are so unique: The packaging is of course the most obvious thing that makes these so unique, because it just adds a fun and cute little aspect to something that most women use every single day, and I have to say that every time I use it, it really does make me smile.
What Eos says:
- Long-lasting moisture
- Shea butter & vitamin E
- Smoothes on clear
- New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips
- Twist-off top
- Gluten-free
- Paraben-free
- Petrolatum-free
eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.
- Phthalate-free
What I thought: I love the fact that this is a natural product, and it is incredibly moisturising. Plus, the smell is just incredible, in fact it is so awesome, that I placed it under the boyfriends nose and he said that it smelt "yummy". I'm not really sure if I really managed to convince him that no, he could not eat it, but he is definitely a fan of this lip balm.
Price: I paid just over £5 (including postage) for this, on Ebay, but I've since discovered that a couple of British-based website sell it for £4.75, which might seem a bit steep for a lip balm, in a market where £2-£3 is the average, but trust me when I say that this is a great product, that everyone should try. Plus, I'm pretty certain that it will last for a very long time!
Where: As I said, you'll find a couple of fairly priced sellers on Ebay, but you can also purchase it from the Naturally Fabulous website.
Would I purchase this again? Definitely. I can not speak any more highly for this lip balm! It smells delicious, is so smooth and 100% natural and free from all those nasties that we all hate!
