My Top 5 Lip Balms

I love Lip Balm. Fact. I'm not sure if it's because I'm really not a fan of lipstick or lip gloss, or if it's because I hate having chapped lips (who does!) but I can not live without lip balms. So, I was thinking that it's about time I shared my Top Five Lip Balms, that everyone has to try, at least once.

Number Five.

Vaseline Lip Therapy. 

Please prove me wrong, but I personally, have never come across a member of the female species that has not owned one of these, at some point in their lives. Hey, I even know a fair few males who will (very quietly) confess to owning one. These handy little tins are the basic "I'm desperate for some lip balm, but I only have a couple of quid" go-to brand.

Pros:

• Super Cheap
• Reliable
• Handy little tins, that fit perfectly in pockets, hand bags, even larger purses
• Virtually everywhere sells them!

Cons:

• I sometimes struggle to get the lids off, especially when hands are greasy or sweaty due to having to "pull" in order to get the tins open.
• Product can be a little greasy

Price: Between £1 and £2.

Number Four. 

Lush Lip Balms

I was addicted to Lush Lip Balms for quite a while, a few years back, perhaps because they were the first natural lip balm that I ever had the opportunity to try, or perhaps because they taste so darn delicious. A part of me wants to rate them higher than Number Four, but I just had to place them here!

Available in:

• None of Your Beeswax (gotta love that name!)
• Sweet Lips
• Ultra Balm

Pros:

• Handy little tins
• Personally, I find these tins a little easier to manage than the Vaseline ones, because they twist, rather than pull off.
• Available in so many different flavours, so the chances are that you're going to love at least one of them!
• 100% natural
• Taste yummy
• Smell yummy

Cons:

• Some of the flavours really are not to my taste at all
• Eventually, they can get a little sickly in both taste and small
• I don't live near a Lush, which sucks big time, and means I don't get chance to buy it that often anyway!
• They can be slightly price for the size of the tin (nevertheless, they do lost a long time).

Price: Varies between £4 and £8.

Number Three. 

Anita Grant Lippy Pucker.

I was fortunate enough to sample a few of these last year, and I have to confess to being very divided by them. Some I absolutely love (hence their positioning), whilst others weren't for me. This isn't anything against Anita (who is fabulous by the way), or even the product. It's more of a personal taste thing, in the same way that I'm not a fan of some of the Lush lip balms. For me, the chocolate ones are just too sickly, which is more just me not particularly liking to have chocolate on my lips.

• Fruity Orange (definitely my favourite. It tastes delicious. Not that I ate it...!!)

Pros:

• 100% natural
• Organic
• Smell absolutely divine
• Made in the UK
• No unnecessary ingredients
• A nice variety of flavours to choose from
• Traditional in the sense that they come in a tube, rather than a tin, and they're the only traditional style lip balm in my list, so that's pretty special :D

Cons:

• Some of the flavours are a little sickly, for my tastes
• A little greasy

Price: £3.25 which is a fairly good price for a natural lip balm, in my opinion.

Number Two. 
Blistex Med Plus.

The first time I discovered the Blistex Med Plus was actually three years ago, when my mum and I were in Canada. As I've already said, I'm a bit of a lip balm-aholic, so when my lip balm ran out (after being forced into a see-through bag on the flight to Toronto, and slightly melting!!) I was desperate to find a replacement and I found this product but in a traditional tube, in a St. Johns Drug Store. Since I'd loved it so much, just before we left St. Johns I actually went back and bought a second one, however, they of course didn't last forever and I eventually ran out :(

I had no idea that we could get the product over here in the UK, because I'd always been looking for a tube, and only bought the tub out of just needing something over the winter months, but I was over the moon to discover that it was the exact same product. Using it takes me back to Canada, which I love.

But, in all seriousness, I love this product because it's medicated, which is perfect for tackling dry and chapped lips, but it's also not too strong or sickly in flavour or smell.

Available in: Of course there are quite a few Blistex products, but for this article, I'm really only talking about the Med Plus one.

Pros:

• In a handy little tub
• The tub fits easily into your pocket, handbag etc
• It's really easy to open
• Smells nice
• Leaves the lips feeling all tingly
• It isn't too strong
• Lasts a long time

Cons:

• I sometimes find it to be a little bit too greasy
• I find it to be a little pricey, but it does last, so this is a con I can live with, especially during the winter.

Number One. 

Eos Lip Sphere

I reviewed this wonderful little balm only a short time ago, so I'll try not to repeat myself too much, but I absolutely adore this product. It's small, it's cute and it's quirky, and I have to say that I am a huge lover of anything that is cute and quirky!!

• Sweet Mint

Pros:

• Adorable packaging
• 100% natural
• Smells incredibly delectable
• Fits in pocket, handbag easily
• Easy to use/open

Cons:

• A little bit expensive
• I've gotten through mine really quickly, although a lot of people say theirs have lasted a long time...maybe I just use mine too often!
