ARGH! I'm really behind on these TAG
When I first read what today's Tag Challenge was, I didn't have a clue what to write about. With this blog being about beauty, there's a huge "pull" towards writing something beauty-related, but, I don't really want to. Instead, I want to share with you something that has played a huge part of my life for the past 13 years!
Final Fantasy
Ahh...Final Fantasy VII is where this whole thing began back in 1997/98. I was thirteen, and my brother quite literally forced me to play it...it went to a great start...I couldn't walk Cloud in a straight line (in some games, I still haven't mastered this whole thing with straight lines...oh wait, that's not actually restricted to just games!!) But, it all leads me to the question of why I love this series so much?
Ever since I was little, I've always been a very introverted person, I'm happier doing stuff in my own little bubble and I was always at my happiest when totally absorbed inside a book. My childhood was quite literally consumed by books, so when I was introduced to a game with a book-like story, that I could get physically involved with, it's no surprise that I was easily hooked!
Many an
I think that what is so exciting about these games, is having watched how far they have progressed graphically from the cube-block characters of 7, to the almost lifelike characters of the most recent 13. Graphically, I have never found another RPG game that comes even close to Final Fantasy, and the music is always just so breathtaking. Unfortunately, when Nobuo Uematsu left as Square's "music man", the music hasn't quite felt the same...but Uematsu is just a musical legend, who is definitely on par with some of the great film composers, such as John Williams, Ennio Morricone etc!
I'd love to know what Square's secret has been when it has come to the entire series, but I can only assume it is their ability to draw in some of the world's leading talents, because only talent could create something as wonderful as this series. A series that I hope never to grow out of.
Beinga writer, it's been tough not to write articles about Final Fantasy, and it's no surprise that I gave in to temptation a few times!!

- Final Fantasy: The Great Linearity Debate (I'd love to hear people's views on this subject!)

Are there any other Final Fantasy fans out there? I'd love to know what it is that you love about the series? Plus, how were you introduced to the games? :)
