Day 08: A Photo that makes me Sad/Angry
I spent ages (as in the entire weekend) picking a picture for today's Tag Challenge, but I decided to settle for this picture, not because I dislike the person in the picture, because it certainly isn't her that gets on my goat. It's the actual photo that makes me so MAD!
Anyway, this is the picture:
I first saw this advert for Garnier Nutrisse, in an issue of Psychologies magazine a few months back, and I honestly did not realise who it was. For those who don't recognise her (or remember that she promotes Garner Nutrisse...Nutrisse means Nourish), it's Big Brother presenter Davina McCall.
In fact, when I saw her name on the advert, I had to do a double take, because in my opinion, it looks nothing like her. Don't get me wrong, Davina looks absolutely incredible, but this picture makes her look really young in an unnatural way. Plus, I always got the impression that Davina had quite fine hair, well fine compared to this picture anyway.
The hair I partially get, because it's advertising hair dye. But, if the product is as good as they claim it is, then why do they feel the need to make her hair look good artificially?
I'm not going to get started on how photoshopping affects young girls, but I am going to question why it is necessary to photoshop women who are already absolutely stunning. If these attractive women need tweaking here and there, what hope is there for the rest of us??
